Waste treatment

Waste reduction and recovery

Our main environmental challenge is the recovery of the waste we produce (selective sorting, compost, treatment plant, etc.).

Animal excretions (droppings) are composted and become organic fertilisers (NFU 42001 standard)

The shell eggs are mixed with droppings during the composting process for a supplement of calcium.

Cardboard boxes and plastic materials are compacted and recycled. Honeycombed cardboards are collected by a specialist company.

Use of recyclable plastic honeycomb for all in-house production.

Used water is collected and directed to an in-house treatment plant to be treated and released in the river (The Epte: classified 1st category fish farm).

The slurry from the plant is mixed to the compost.

On the whole, the non-recovered and non-recycled waste represents 0.06 % of the mass produced (that is 19 tons out of 33,000 tons).
